Microcomputer Systems Using the STE Bus
R.J.Mitchell 1989, Macmillan Press, ISBN 0-333-49649-3

This book describes how computer systems may be constructed based around the IEEE approved STE Bus. Details are given on: interfaces of slave devices to the bus; of the interface of microprocessors and other bus masters; and practical considerations of such systems.

Modula-2 Applied
R.J.Mitchell 1991; Macmillan Press; ISBN 0-333-55453-1

This book describes a variety of useful programming techniques and illustrates the use of most of these in one application - an interactive drawing package. A basic knowledge of Modula-2 is assumed. The program is implemented using TopSpeed Modula-2. A disk is available containing the program and its source.

C++ Object Oriented Programming
R.J.Mitchell 1993; ISBN 0-333-58937-8

This book describes the object oriented paradigm and the language C++ illustrates their use in one application - an interactive drawing package. A knowledge of C or similar language (e.g. Modula-2) is assumed. The program is implemented using Borland C++. A disk is available containing the program and its source.

Microprocessor Systems - an introduction
R.J.Mitchell 1995; ISBN 0-333-64190-6

This book provides a coherent introduction to microprocessor systems, their operation and design. It covers computer structure, low level programming, logic design and interfacing. The fundamental principles are described and then illustrated using the 68020 and 8051.

Cybernetics, Circuits and Computing
R J Mitchell et al, 2012, Pearson

A custom book which covers much of the material taught in the Part 1 modules SE1CC11 and SE1CA11, including special material specifically for the Feedback lectures in SE1CC11.
