I am currently a PhD Student within the Mathematical Biology research group in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Reading. .

Research Interests

The main focus of my research is to develop models that appropriately describe plant and canopy growth of the Banbara Groundnut and also the plant interaction when grown as part of a crop.
We aim to bridge the gap between individual plant and crop scale models in order to attain a better understanding of how individual plant interactions affect the crop yield. To do this we will
develop a multiscale mathematical model, which will focus on modelling individual plants and the canopy interactions between them. A multiscale mathematical modelling allows one to
assess the effect that changes on a small scale have on a large scale. Thus developing such a model will allow us to investigate the effect of planting density, planting arrangement, drought
and mixing of plant types has on crop yield.

This project is supervised by Dr. Marcus Tindall.
