Principal Investigators:

Ph.D. students and research staff:

Liz Martin  email: e.m.martin@pgr.reading.ac.uk

Liz started her Ph.D. in Oct ’09 on cognitive and affective neuroscience of ageing, as well as assisting in data collection and analysis on a Marie-Curie FP7-funded MRI research project on ageing, cognitive and emotional control.

Alex Taylor  email: a.n.w.taylor@pgr.reading.ac.uk

Alex joined the lab in Oct ’09 on consequences of cognitive ageing to emotion-relevant processes. Alex’s research is funded by a 4 year CASE-BBSRC studentship (with Unilever).

Rob Clarke  email: r.j.clarke@pgr.reading.ac.uk

Rob started his 1+3 ESRC-funded studentship in Oct ‘09 looking into the cognitive neuroscience of PFC-limbic interactions.

Dr. Ignazio Puzzo  email: i.puzzo@reading.ac.uk

Ignazio works with Tom and Birthe on a BBSRC grant using TMS and FMRI to investigate prefrontal-subcortical connectivity. He arrived in Reading in Nov ’10

Natalie Masento  email: n.masento@pgr.reading.ac.uk

Co-supervised by Laurie Butler and Doug Saddy, Natalie started her Ph.D. in Oct ’11 on the perceptual, cognitive and neural correlates of acute hydration in young and older adults" (UoR Life Sciences studentship, half-funded by Britvic) .

Michael Rubens  email: m.t.rubens@pgr.reading.ac.uk

Micheal joined us from California in Jan ’12 and has been awarded an EPSRC International PhD studentship. If he’s not wondering when it will stop raining, he employs multimodal brain imaging techniques to better understand the ageing brain.
