EC330-3-SP: Economics of Transition in Eastern Europe

Here are some relevant journals, with their publisher's websites:

  1. The Economics of Transition, Blackwell: published for the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and co-sponsored by the Stockholm Institute for Transition Economics (SITE) – since its foundation in 1993, it has established itself as the most authoritative periodical title for research in transition economics: the journal is accessible for reading either at the Albert Sloman Library or via its EBSCO Host Electronic Journal Service facility.
  2. Economic Systems, Elsevier Science: published for the Osteuropa-Institut München in collaboration with the European Association for Comparative Economic Studies (EACES) – having more recently specialised in the study of market and non-market solutions to allocation problems as well as proposals for their reform, this journal retains its long-standing interest in topics of comparative economics, especially the transformation of formerly planned economies into market economies; unfortunately, it is not (yet) available at the Albert Sloman Library.
  3. Emerging Markets Review, Elsevier Science – this journal analyses formally macro, micro, financial, institutional or other data from emerging markets, attempting to also provide tools or reach conclusions that are useful to practitioners; unfortunately, it is not (yet) available at the Albert Sloman Library.
